Sandra, Darlene and Scott, we are so sorry for your loss. The favorite memories of my youth are entwined with the lives of Jack, Sandra and the boys. There wasn't a ballgame that Jack and Sandra were not there to cheer on our team. (Sandra continued cheering me on throughout my career.) Randy was, let's say, a couple of years younger than I. But he was a good athlete and a team player. Randy was not only a good athlete and a team player, but also a good person. All through his high school years, he exhibited excellent character that indicated where his future would lead--shaping the minds of young people. I know that he has helped many young people pursuing their dreams. Randy was also a good Christian. His abiding faith was present throughout his high school days. Time and events made us go different ways. So, it is with sadness that I read of his passing. May God bless him and his family. His body no longer is wracked with illness and disease. He has a new spirit--one that is nearer to God.
