William “Chuck” Thompson, 67, of Andrews passed away on Thursday, March 15, 2018 in Odessa.

Chuck was born on October 4, 1950 in Brownfield, Texas. He moved to Andrews in 1962 and attended Andrews High School. He married Linda Kay Byrd on July 2, 1970 in Andrews. He had worked as a truck driver and dispatcher for Amoco Oil Production for 17 years and Baker Hughes for 7 years. He enjoyed going to his Lake Texoma home and loved to go fishing, especially with his grandchildren. He enjoyed woodworking and working with a lathe. He loved his rescue dogs, Daisy and Sunshine, and his rescue cat from work, Shieba and her kittens. His wife had given him his Chickasaw nation name, Nita Shookala, which means “Sugar Bear”. He was a Baptist and was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Katherine J. Shaw in 1981, and 2 daughters, Savina Thompson in 1971 and Brandy Smith in 2011.
Chuck is survived by his wife, Linda K. Thompson of Andrews, daughter, Milicent and Bradley Snyder of South Carolina, adopted son, David Scott of Hobbs, New Mexico, 6 grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild on the way.
