Jerry Wayne Carruth
Jerry Wayne Carruth, 69, of Andrews passed away on Saturday, March 10, 2018 in Andrews surrounded by his family.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate his life at 10:00 AM Thursday, March 15, 2018 at the Cross Bar Cowboy Church, 185 SE 1000, in Andrews with Minister Kerry Pack and Rev. Billy Carl Carruth officiating. Interment will follow in the Andrews West Cemetery under the personal care of McNett Funeral Home in Andrews. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6 – 8 PM at the funeral home. Please celebrate his life by visiting www.mcnettfuneralhome.com.

Pallbearers will be Brice Buck, Kyle Buck, Casey Buck, Randy Carruth, Ryan Carruth, and Josh Brown.

Jerry was born on November 23, 1948 in Andrews, Texas to Truman Bertan Carruth and Janie Pearl Timmons. He has lived in Andrews all his life and graduated from Andrews High School in 1967. While in high school, he was in track and won state in pole vaulting and held the high school record for many years. He had started a band called “The Premiers”, and they played for many events in town. After graduation, he had worked at ARCO in Andrews. He married Billie Joyce Peeples on May 30, 1969 in Andrews. He owned and operated K & D Roustabout Services and J & C Oil Field Services from 1981 – 1986. He graduated from Midland College, where he obtained his Licensed Vocational Nurse – LVN certificate and attended Cisco College. He worked as a LVN at Midland Memorial Hospital from 1992 – 2006. He also worked as a traveling LVN, where he met many friends along the way. During his time as a LVN, he would travel and work with patients that he had taken care of at Midland Memorial. He had coached Little League Baseball with his son, enjoyed calf and team roping, enjoyed watching all types of sports, but enjoyed playing golf. He collected lighthouse figurines and watch Lonesome Dove. He enjoyed singing everywhere he was and was a member of “The Bible Singers”. He was very proud of his grandchildren and loved to watch them play football and other sports. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and member of the Andrews Masonic Lodge #1042. He was a member of the Cross Bar Cowboy Church.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Billie Carruth of Andrews, mother, Janie Westfall of Abilene, son, Robert and Sherrie Carruth of Midland, daughter, LaRonda and Lee Shirley of Andrews, 2 brothers, Donnie and Bertha Carruth of Andrews and Tommy and Donnice Carruth of Spur, 2 sisters, Wanda Jordon of Andrews and Gay Nell and Allen McNew of Midland, 8 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren.

Jerry was a big believer and supporter of the military. He never served, but he was so proud his son and grandsons that have served. All memorials may be dedicated and sent to any organization that supports the military.
