Obituary for Lovie Lee Sloan

Lovie Lee Sloan
Lovie Lee Sloan, 54, passed away on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 in Odessa.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate her life at a graveside service at 2:00 PM Monday, March 12, 2018 in the Andrews North Cemetery with Pastor Allen Strambler, Sr. officiating. Visitation will be on Monday, March 12, 2018 from 9 AM – 1:30 PM at McNett Funeral Home Chapel. Please celebrate her life by visiting www.mcnettfuneralhome.com.

Pallbearers will be Joel Blair, Theodore Moore, Samuel Sloan, Corrieon Morris, Miles Moore, Jesse Moore, Jeremy Sloan, and Allen Rowland. Honorary pallbearers will be Geremy Butler, Robert Armstrong, and Issac Campos.

Lovie was born on June 28, 1963 in Midland, Texas to James Booker T. Moore and Christine Nichols Moore. She was a spirited eclectic child. Her range of interest included everything from sun bathing, playing dolls and basketball. She grew up in California, and she traveled to many parts of the world helping to enhance her eclectic personality. She found and married the love of her life, Charles, Sloan in the summer of 1989. Together, they traveled the United States from California to Colorado to Texas and finally calling Florida home. Together combined, they raised 9 wonderful children. Her enormous heart and love of people helped her grow and nurture her family as well as many families she encountered in her career as a nurse’s aide. Her love expands time and space as many called her mom. Many referred to her as “Sister Lovie” from her church members. God gave her the task of loving the world like HE loved the church, and she showed it every day in every smile, every kind word, and every heartfelt prayer. She was known to pray for family and friends. She was a lover of miniature Hershey’s, a collector of small tokens of memories, and loved the Dallas Cowboys. She had worked as a nurse’s aide, EKG technician, phlebotomist, and as a caregiver. She was preceded in death by her father, grandparents, 2 sisters, Terri and Debbie Moore, and 1 brother, James Moore. She was a member of Abundant Harvest of Palm Coast, Florida and a visitor of Mount Olive Baptist Church during her stay in Andrews. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Lovie is survived by her husband, Charles Sloan of Bunnell, FL, mother, Christine Moore of Andrews, 9 children, Annalisiya Blair and Arthur Shavers of Daytona Beach, FL, Clarissa Blair and Tenisha Wilson of Garland, TX, Charlette Sloan and Tyrone Jones of Palm Coast, FL, Jasmine Sloan of Bunnell, FL, Odell Blair of Odessa, TX, Joel Blair of Marfa, TX, Theodore Moore of Bunnell, FL, Samuel Sloan and Shauna Raffiani of Andrews, TX, and Jeremy Sloan and Gloria Matve of Odessa, TX, 4 sisters, Christine “Baba” Moore of Odessa, TX, Danette Moore of Andrews, TX, Deborah Moore of Palm Coast, FL, Tasha Moore- Caufield and Tony Caufield of Dallas, 1 brother, Jesse Moore of Andrews, 15 grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
