Sammie Dildine, 92, of Andrews passed away on Saturday, December 16, 2017 in Andrews.
Family and friends will gather to celebrate her life at 2:00 PM Thursday, December 21, 2017 at Means Memorial United Methodist Church, 311 NE 2nd Street, in Andrews with Rev. Rick Doyle and Rev. Les Hall, officiating. Interment will follow in the Andrews North Cemetery. Visitation will be at McNett Funeral Home on Wednesday from 9 AM – 9 PM and Thursday from 9 AM – 12 PM, and the family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6 – 8 PM. Sammie was born on August 14, 1925 in Brownfield, Texas to Elvie Stone Tankersley and Myrtle Mae Rogers Tankersley. She was raised in Brownfield and graduated from Brownfield High School. She married Ralph Edward Dildine on November 27, 1957 in Brownfield. She has been a long-time resident of Andrews. She had worked as a secretary for the First United Methodist Church in Odessa for several years. She had helped cook for the Methodist Men and Lion’s Club in Andrews, while they met at the church. She had worked at Robbie’s Book Store in Andrews. She loved to do crossword puzzles and watch Fox News. She loved her family and her children, and was the best mother anyone could ask for. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband on December 25, 2008, her son, Charles Raymond George, on April 6, 2010, 3 sisters, and 5 brothers. She was a faithful member of Means Memorial United Methodist Church.
Sammie is survived by her daughter, Robyn Molina and husband, Tony, of Denison; 2 sons, Joe Don George and wife, Jeana, of Brownwood and James Dildine and wife, Nancy, of Andrews; 6 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandson.
