Jessie Norvell, 93, of Andrews passed away on Saturday, November 18, 2017 in Abilene.
Family and friends will gather to celebrate her life at 10:00 AM Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at the First Baptist Church, 201 NE 2nd Street, in Andrews with Pastor Brant O’Connor, officiating. Jessie was born on December 21, 1923 in Rubottom, Oklahoma to Andrews Jackson Ward and Mabel Sullivan Ward. She was raised in Oklahoma and married Daniel Dudley Norvell on January 16, 1946 in Gainesville, Texas. They moved to Andrews in 1958 from Denver City and lived in Lovington and Hobbs, New Mexico. They moved back to Andrews in 1968. She had worked for First Baptist Church as a day care worker and was a homemaker to her family. She liked to read and do crossword puzzles. She was a member of the First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband on September 11, 1981, her parents, 1 sister, and 4 brothers.
Jessie is survived by her 2 daughters, Retha Luttrull of Andrews and Belinda Norvell of Abilene, 2 sons, Dwayne Norvell of Odessa and Randell Norvell of Andrews, 11 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and 31 great great grandchildren.
