He served as the Captain of his football and baseball teams his Senior year, and had played in the UIL All Star Game for football and baseball. The day after he graduated; he went to work for his Uncle Marty Slaton at Slaton Waterfalls and Ponds in Odessa. He worked for him for several years and loved every minute of it. This is where he learned to build waterfalls, outdoor kitchens, lazy rivers, and pools, and was still working on some of this. He met Erin Nicole Parrish and married her a year later on November 5, 2006 in Odessa at a waterfall garden he built himself. He had worked for Energen Resources since 2009 as a Fluid Technician in their Andrews and Seminole offices.

He had coached, mentored, fathered many kids throughout all these sports and he was known as “Coach” to them. He had won as Flight Champion in the 2017 Andrews Father-Son Golf Tournament with his son, Rocky. He enjoyed being around youth sports, playing golf, fantasy football, and loved to shrimp boil. He liked the Nebraska Cornhuskers, Dallas Cowboys, and the St. Louis Cardinals. He had been the “Voice of the AHS Baseball” radio broadcast on KACT Radio for the last 3 years.
