Michael Ray de Leòn, 18, of Andrews, passed away on Sunday, October 22, 2017 in Andrews.
Family and friends will gather to celebrate his life at 2:00 PM Friday, October 27, 2017 at La Nueva Jerusalem Church, 2535 NW Mustang Drive, in Andrews with Pastor Isai Garcia officiating. Interment will follow in the Andrews North Cemetery under the personal care of McNett Funeral Home. Prayer services will be held at 6:00 PM Thursday at La Nueva Jerusalem Church. Visitation at McNett Funeral Home Chapel will be on Wednesday from 2:00 PM – 9:00 PM. Michael was born on October 8, 1999 in Andrews to Ramiro and Michelle Marie Gutierrez de Leòn. Michael grew up in Andrews and was a Senior at Andrews High School. He enjoyed power lifting at school, cross country and track, and he played football from the third grade through the ninth grade. He loved riding horses and roping. One of his passions was working on cars, and his ambition was to go to mechanic school. He was a great fan of the New York Giants, and he had a big heart and loved helping others. He was always the life of the party and was a big clown and liked to give everyone a hug. He always considered himself as “SUPERMAN” and always tried to be everyone else’s “SUPERMAN”. He was preceded in death by great grandparents, Luis de Leòn Garcia and Eusebia de Leòn, Edward Tienda, and Natividad Medina.
Michael is survived by his parents, Ramiro and Michelle de Leòn of Andrews, one brother, Ramiro de Leòn, Jr. of Andrews, two sisters, Desiree de Leòn and Mariah de Leòn, both of Andrews, paternal grandparents, Jesus and Hilda de Leòn of Andrews, maternal grandparents, Zeke and Teresa Gutierrez of Andrews.
