Camelia Salcido Alvarez, 50, of Andrews passed away on Sunday, September 10. 2017 in Odessa.

Joseph Ogbonna, Pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in the Andrews North Cemetery, and her brothers will serve as pallbearers. Services are under the personal care of McNett Funeral Home. Please follow the purple ribbons along the road and to the entrance of the Watusi Ranch. Please celebrate her life by visiting www.mcnettfuneralhome.com.

She was born on June 18, 1967 in Roswell, New Mexico to Manuel “Chino” Ramirez Salcido and Edubijes “Vicky” Contreras Salcido. She was raised and attended school in Andrews and has lived here for many years. She married Jose Martin Alvarez, Sr. on July 25, 1986 in Andrews. She had owned and operated along with her husband, 5-A Backhoe Service, since 2007. She was very proud of her Hispanic heritage and loved spending time with her family. She loved gardening, dancing, all types of music, traveling, snapchatting silly photos, making crafts for all of her family, decorating for all occasions, especially birthdays and weddings, and loved the Dallas Cowboys. She was a mother and grandmother to all her nieces and nephews. She loved having the grandchildren, nieces, and nephews out to the ranch, where they would go four wheeling. She loved having them all over to her home to watch movies. She will be remembered for her Mexican food and desserts, especially her cheesecake, and her love for margaritas. Most of all, she loved spending time at Watusi Ranch, raising her exotic cattle, and was a member of the World Watusi Cattle Association. She was a faithful member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, and had taught Confraternity of Christian Doctrine (CCD) classes many years ago. She was preceded in death by her parents, and sister, Manuela Salcido.

She is survived by her husband, Jose Alvarez, of Andrews, son, Jose Martin Alvarez, Jr. and wife, Laura, of Andrews, daughter, Jessica Marie Gutierrez and husband, Mario, of Andrews, 2 sisters, Clara Salcido and Margarita Leyva of Andrews, 6 brothers, Ramon Contreras and wife, Yolanda, of Carlsbad, NM, Melquiades Salcido and wife, Maria, Carlos Salcido and wife, Norma, Rogelio Salcido, Francisco Salcido and wife, Elizabeth, and Guadalupe Salcido, all of them from Andrews, 4 grandchildren, Joey Martin Alvarez, III, Giovanni Cardoza, Emily Jade Alvarez, and Leilani Grace Alvarez, and many nieces and nephews.
