Sergeant Max Williams, U.S. Army, Retired
Sergeant Max Williams, U.S. Army, Retired, 83, of San Antonio passed away on Friday, August 25, 2017 in Audie L. Murphy Memorial V.A. Hospital in San Antonio.

Private graveside services will be held in the Andrews Old Cemetery under the personal care of McNett Funeral Home in Andrews. Visitation will be on Tuesday, August 29th from 9:00 AM – 9:00 PM. Max was born on October 1, 1933 in Andrews to Alvin Sidney Williams and Vesta Ruth Heasley Williams. He graduated from Andrews High School and married Billie Pearl Haseltine on February 9, 1967 in Columbus, Georgia. He had served in the U.S. Army for 22 years, which included 3 tours in the Vietnam Conflict and 1 tour in the Korean Conflict, and retired as a Sergeant – First Class – E-7. He had worked for 22 years as an ambulance driver for Audie L. Murphy Memorial V.A. Hospital in San Antonio. He had been a resident of San Antonio since 1976. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #1205 in Somerset, Disabled American Veterans, Non-Commissioned Officers Association, National Rifle Association, and the VFW Lodge #8456 in Geronimo. He was a Methodist, and he was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, Jackie Williams, Sr. and Richard Williams, and 1 sister, Virginia Hogg.

Max is survived by his wife, Billie H. Williams of San Antonio, 3 daughters, Rhonda and Edgar Kutscher of San Antonio, Billie Bennish of Oklahoma City, and Alicia Williams of Denver, Colorado, 3 sisters, Mona Wilson of Midland, Shirley and Richard Clutter of Odessa, and Billie Rogers of Idaho, 7 grandchildren, and 18 great grandchildren.

Memorials may be sent to your Masonic Lodge, VFW Lodge, or the American Disabled Veterans.
