Dorothy Jane Perry, 93, of Seminole passed away Sunday, August 13, 2017, in Seminole.
Family and friends will gather to celebrate her life at 10:00 AM, Tuesday August 15, 2017 at Andrews West Cemetery with Reverend James R. “Rick” Doyle officiating. Dorothy was born March 13, 1924 in Jacksonville, Texas to John and Maudie Mayfield. She was raised in Jacksonville and graduated from Jacksonville High School. Shortly after graduation she met her husband Tommy Perry, Sr. and the two were married on May 23, 1943 in Jacksonville. They lived in many West Texas towns before they settled in Andrews in 1961. She and Tommy owned a Hot Oil Service Business in Andrews for several years before Tommy’s retirement. Tommy passed away suddenly in December of 1984. She met her second husband, Donald Dodd, and the two were married in 1989 in Andrews. After a few years of marriage, Don passed away also. Dorothy was a dedicated mother and homemaker to her children. She enjoyed spending time with her children and family. Her family and friends will always remember how much she loved to sing, dance, and play bingo. Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Tommy, husband, Don, two brothers, Johnny Mayfield, Jr. and Dee Mayfield, and one sister, Lee Mayfield.
She is survived by her children, Tommy and Angie Perry of Andrews, Teresa and Roy Ellison of Seminole, and Timothy Perry of Caldwell, seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren.
