Pauline Banton Cook McDonald, age 88, of Andrews, Texas, died on June 17, 2017, at Odessa, Texas.
Family and friends will gather to celebrate her life during a funeral Mass 10:00 AM Thursday, June 22, 2017 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with Monsignor Bernard Gully officiating. Interment will be at 2:00 PM Thursday at Evergreen Cemetery at Stanton, Texas under the personal care of McNett Funeral Home of Andrews. The family will receive friends Wednesday, June 21, from 6 – 8 PM at McNett Funeral Home.

She was born June 14, 1929, in Ironton, Ohio to Harry and Annie Banton. She attended public schools in Ironton and later in Salisbury, North Carolina. She was married to Johnnie Paul Cook of Stanton, Texas, in 1947. They had two children, Paula Cook Markle of San Antonio, Texas, and James Cook of Trophy Club, Texas
Mr. Johnnie Paul Cook passed away in 1951, and Pauline later married Charles McDonald in 1953.
Mrs. McDonald had worked for the Andrews Independent School District for many years, serving as the administrative assistant for many of the School Superintendents. She also served as the Secretary for the School Board. Paulene was preceded in death by her husband Johnnie Paul Cook and Charles McDonald and a brother, Hoyle Banton.
She is survived by her daughter, Paula Cook Markle, her son, James Cook and wife, Janet, granddaughter Jessica Rhodes and husband Kris, grandson, John Cook and wife Sabrina, and four great-grandchildren.
