Fred R. Kemp, Sr., 70, of Andrews passed away on Tuesday, May 2, 2017 in Andrews.

Fred was born on January 2, 1947 in San Angelo to Frederick Fernoye Kemp and Lillian Lois Nixon Kemp. He was raised in Wink and graduated from Wink High School in 1965. He had lived in Monahans and moved to Andrews in the 1990’s. He had worked in the oil and gas industry for several years and traveled to Iraq, Iran, and Russia as a drilling consultant. He also previously worked for Brownlee Well Service in Andrews. He loved to play pool and was a member of the Odessa Pool League as well as the Red Man and Eagles Lodge in Andrews. When not playing pool, he enjoyed fishing, fast cars, watching sports, and especially the Dallas Cowboys and the Boston Celtics. He was preceded in death by his parents and his dog, Scruffy.
Fred is survived by his 2 sons, Fred Kemp Jr. and wife, Grace, of Wink and Larry Kemp of Odessa; 1 brother, Mike Kemp and wife, Donna, of Junction; 1 sister, Linda Davenport and husband, Ed, of Lake Havasu City, Arizona; 7 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren.
