Sue Hemphill, 92, of Fort Stockton, and formerly of Andrews, passed away on Thursday, April 20, 2017 in Fort Stockton.
Family and friends will gather to celebrate her life at 10:00 AM Saturday, April 22, 2017 at McNett Funeral Home Chapel in Andrews with Rev. Rick Doyle, officiating. Sue was born on June 10, 1924 in Roby, Texas to Jake H. Campbell and Hattie Mae Feagan. She was raised in Roby and graduated from Roby High School. She married Beauford Thomas Hemphill on September 6, 1947 in Anton. They moved to Andrews in 1977, where she worked as a sales clerk at Hulen’s Jewelry and Gibsons. They loved to go camping and traveling in their RV and spending time in Cloudcroft, NM. She loved WWE wrestling, knitting and crocheting, and cooking and baking for her family and friends. She was a Methodist. She was preceded in death by her husband on March 20, 2014, her parents, 2 sisters, 2 brothers, and a granddaughter, Tammy Johnson. After her husband passed away, she moved to Fort Stockton.
Sue is survived by her daughter, Glenda Johnson and husband, Bodie, of Fort Stockton, son, Eugene Hemphill of Iraan, 5 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and 6 great great grandchildren.
