Lisa Monette Mosley, of Andrews, fell asleep in death Thursday, February 23, 2017 in Andrews, Texas.
She was born to Jack and Pat Mosley in Jal, NM on January 6, 1966. She was the first baby born in Jal that year and was crowned Little Miss Jal 1966. Lisa grew up in Frankel City, Texas where her father worked at the El Paso Natural Gas Fullerton plant and her mother owned The Prairie Schooner Cafe. She attended Andrews High School and later went on to graduate from Odessa College Cosmetology. Lisa was in some ways a Jack-Of-All-Trades. She worked as a waitress, a cosmetologist, a machinist, pursued a modeling career, ran her own restaurant, and worked most recently as a landscaper. Free spirited, beautiful, artistic, smart, fiercely loyal, and wild in her own way-she lived her life on her terms. As a collector of all things useful, she always had an eye out for trinkets and 'pretties' and knew exactly who she wanted to give each one to. Lisa was an avid arrowhead hunter and spent many 100-degree summer days out with her brothers, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews hunting for that perfect Folsom point. Like her mother, she loved flowers and had a real knack for keeping plants alive in the desert. She cared for her beloved pets and could not bear to see any living creature suffer. She was also an amazing cook and made a delicious chocolate pie. Even though Lisa dealt with chronic pain the majority of her life, and the heart-breaking losses of her brother and parents, she was extraordinarily kind. She went out of her way to make others feel comfortable, loved and happy. Lisa will be remembered and cherished for the beauty she was as a beloved daughter, sister, cousin, niece, aunt, and friend. She will be deeply missed. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Pat Mosley, a brother, Victor Floyd Mosley, and a sister-in-law Beth Mosley.
She is survived by two brothers, Willie (Patsy) Mosley of McCamey and John (Diana) Mosley of Midland; sister-in-law Debbie Mosley of Tucson, AZ; aunts Bobbie Barclay of Alvord, Paula (Charles) Megliorino of Austin; uncles Victor Kay Lindsey of Austin and Stephen (Betty) Lindsey of Forney; nieces Sarah Gonzalez of San Antonio, Jessica Mosley of Andrews, Lindsey Troublefield and Savannah Paup of McCamey; nephews William J. Mosley of San Antonio, Jesse Mosley of McCamey, Jared and Matthew Mosley of Midland, plus numerous beloved cousins, thirteen great-nieces and nephews, and many dear friends.
Memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, April 1,2017 at W M Oilfield Services, 16901 Hwy 67, McCamey, Texas. Join us afterwards for an arrowhead hunt in Lisa's memory.
