Obituary for Cody Gail Stewart

Cody Gail  Stewart
Cody Gail Stewart, 24, of Tulsa, Oklahoma and formerly of Andrews, passed away on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 in Henderson, Texas.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate his life at 2:00 pm Friday, February 3, 2017 at the First Baptist Church, 201 NE 2nd Street, in Andrews with his cousin, Chris Chiles, speaking. The Stewart family will be receiving friends at their home, 5513 SE 3000, on Thursday, February 2nd from 5 PM - 8 PM.

Honorary pallbearers will be Bob Stewart, Nathan Duzan, Noriel Tarango, John Thomas Caldemeyer, Cameron McSpadden, Brian Leonard, Michael “Bear” Solnok, and Daniel “Scooby” Armstrong.

Cody was born on March 7, 1992 in Andrews to James Edward Stewart and Katherine Lorena Rice Stewart. He was raised in Andrews and graduated from Andrews High School in 2010. While in high school, he was in metal shop for 4 years, drum major his senior year, and was involved in 4-H most of his life. He moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma to go to college, and graduated from Spartan College of Aeronautics and Technology with a Bachelor’s Degree in Science Aviation Technology Management. He had worked at Andrews County Airport Stewart’s Welding, Inc. in Andrews, Riverside Jet Center at Richard Lloyd Jones, Jr. Airport in Tulsa, OK, had worked fire patrol for the State of Oklahoma, and was currently working as an aerial pipeline patrol pilot for Eagle Sky Patrol, Inc. He loved to build and compete with his remote-control planes. He was a founding member of the Tulsa Living History Association in Tulsa, OK. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Eddie Gail Stewart, Joan Stewart, and Jack Rice.

Cody is survived by his parents, James Eddie and Kathy Stewart of Andrews, girlfriend, Ariel S. Ryals of Tulsa, OK, grandmother, Nita "Nano" Rice of Andrews, uncles and aunts, Bob and Denise Stewart of Andrews, Kevin and Kelly Chiles of College Station, and Rusty and Karen Gross of Andrews, cousins, Laura and Mike Robinette and their children, Caleb and Karlee, of Greenwood, John and Nicole Caldemeyer of Andrews, Chris and Kat Chiles and their son, Braden, of Houston, and Sara Jo Chiles of Austin.

Memorials may be sent to Tulsa Living History Association. The Tulsa Living History Association is a group that is dedicated to the education of WWII, by not only educating youth, but by honoring and preserving the priceless memories and experiences of our veterans. The ladies represent the women of the WWII home front, as well as Women Airforce Service Pilots, Navy WAVES, and the Women's Army Corp. The gentleman of the TLHA represent the valiant men of the Army Air Corp, Army Infantry, Army Airborne Paratrooper, Marines, as well as the lesser-known German history of the war, and Coast Guard Auxiliary of WWII.
