Lonnie C. Back, 81, passed away in Andrews, Texas on December 27, 2016.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate his life at 11:00 AM Wednesday, January 4, 2016 at Hecker Funeral Home in Uniontown, Ohio with Rev. William Davis, officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Memorial Park in Akron, Ohio. Local arrangements are under the personal care of McNett Funeral Home in Andrews.

Lonnie was born on October 1, 1935 in Quicksand, Breathitt County, Kentucky to Amos and Hazel Clemons Back. He was raised in Ohio and Indiana, where he attended school. Lonnie had served in the U.S. Army. He married Rebecca Jean Sams in July 1960 in Akron. He had worked at Ornamental Iron in Akron and retired from Chrysler Motors after 35 years. He loved to fish, camp, and had an extensive mini-train collection. He had lived in Akron, Ohio since 1955 and moved to Andrews, Texas to be close to his sister, Juanita. He was a Baptist. He was preceded in death by his wife on November 27, 2006, his parents, brother, Gene Back, and sister, Marie Smith.

Lonnie is survived by his 2 sisters, Juanita Campbell of Andrews, TX and Carol O'Neill and husband, Walter, of Chandler, AZ, 1 brother Raymond Rogers and wife, Judith, of Medina, OH, sister-in-law Linda Tippell, nephew Guy Weldon Smith and wife, Judy, of Akron, OH, and other cherished relatives and friends.
