Patsy was born on March 3, 1936 in Snyder, Texas to Roy Taylor and Alva Nora Adams Taylor. She was raised in Andrews and graduated from Andrews High School in 1954. She met Rudy Brandon McReynolds in the 1st grade in Andrews, where they rode the school bus together. They were married on January 11, 1962 in Andrews. Brandon had a long career in the Rodeo Cowboys Association; and Patsy and their 3 children traveled with him on the rodeo circuit until it was time for the children to stop having fun and start school. During those rodeo years with an infant daughter and 2 young boys in a 16-foot travel trailer pulled behind a ’66 GTO; Patsy began to teach her boys from a correspondence course how to read and write and about the love of God and her Savior, Jesus Christ. During those years, they experienced many memories of which we still laugh about and are dear to our hearts. Around 1974, Brandon stopped travelling and rodeoing full time, and they settled in Andrews, Texas, their home town, to begin the post-rodeo part of their lives. The next 40 plus years, Patsy would touch the lives of many people. Patsy was naturally creative and had a unique sense of humor. She could make something out of nothing. She loved to cook, paint, write songs and poetry, and create things with her hands. Patsy had an extraordinary career in homemaking, and her home was always filled with the smells of wonderful food she prepared for her family and sweet homemade items made by her loving hands. They lived in Andrews for many years where their children grew up. She and Brandon moved to Denton in 1995, where she engaged herself as Mimi and continued pouring her love out on her grandchildren by becoming a child again as she played with them and used her beautiful creative mind to bless them greatly and became their favorite playmate. After Brandon’s death, she experienced some health issues and went to live at Senior Care in Denton, where she was lovingly cared for by family and staff. She became known as Cowgirl because she always wanted to wear her cowboy boots every day. She was a favorite there and everyone loved her dearly. She was preceded in death by Brandon on January 2, 2012, her parents, and her brother, Larry Taylor.
Patsy is survived by her daughter, Sunnye Beth Hayes and husband, James, of Kaufman, 2 sons, Blaine McReynolds of Houston and Greg McReynolds and wife, Dana, of Krugerville, 5 grandchildren, Jordan Hayes and wife, Amber, of (Air Force) Anchorage, Alaska, Sonora “Pepper” Hayes of Kaufman, Katie Hayes of Kaufman, Madeline McReynolds of Denton, and Samuel McReynolds of Krugerville, one great grandchild, Haven Taylor Hayes of Anchorage, Alaska.
