Joe Raymond McBeth, 92, of Andrews passed away on Wednesday, November 9, 2016 in Andrews.
Family and friends will gather to celebrate his life at 2:00 PM Monday, November 14, 2016 at McNett Funeral Home Chapel in Andrews with Pastor Kevin Covington of Second Baptist Church in Andrews officiating. Joe was born on June 5, 1924 to Joe Quincy McBeth and Mary Elizabeth Earp. He was raised in Weinert, Texas and graduated from Wellman High School in 1946. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He married Lois Ruth Harris on July 30, 1949 in Brownfield. They moved to Andrews in 1950 from Wellman. In the earlier part of his life, he had worked on roads and pipelines. While in Andrews, he worked for Wood Oil Company, Underwood Oil Company, T.H. McCann, Eddins-Walcher, Andrews County Road and Bridge, and had owned and operated Wood Butane Company. He loved his livestock and his acreage, where he loved to raise dairy cows, and rescue baby calves. He loved to buy, sell, or trade horses, goats, and pigs. He helped his grandchildren raise and show pigs for livestock shows. He was a great storyteller, junk collector, and loved spending time with all his family. He was a member of Second Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife on January 20, 2012, his parents, son, Buddy McBeth, 2 brothers, Ralph and Donald McBeth, 2 sisters, Mona Chambliss and Jaunice Tucker, granddaughter, Christy McBeth Hallum, and daughter in law, Betty McBeth.
He is survived by his son, Terry McBeth and wife, Sheri, of Andrews, 2 daughters, Carol McBeth of Andrews and Paula Lynch and husband, Michael, of Odessa, 1 sister, Edna Pool of Odessa, daughter in law, Elizabeth McBeth of San Antonio, 10 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren.
