Interment will follow in the Andrews North Cemetery under the personal care of McNett Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 6 – 8 PM at the funeral home. Honorary pallbearers will be Kyndra Stephens, Dylainee Stephens, Colton Phillips, Caden Bedrick, Coby Bedrick, Caleb Bedrick, and Kynsie Bedrick.

Amber was born on May 12, 1979 to Ricky Edward Phillips and Sharon Ann Guthrie Phillips. She was a graduate of Andrews High School in 1998. She started playing softball when she was young and continued through high school, and this became one of Amber's passions in life. Amber met the love of her life, James Baker, on November 17, 2010, and they later married on July 26, 2014. This is when her new life began, because she was dedicated not only to him, but to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Amber made one of the best decisions of her life by giving her life to Christ many years ago. She started attending Ranchland Heights Baptist Church in Midland, TX. This is where she started serving our Lord by Teaching Sunday School to the young children and helping her husband direct Children’s Church. She also helped direct Vacation Bible School the last 2 years. She was very passionate about these because it involved the Lord and kids. Amber had the love for kids like no other. When it came to her two step daughters, nieces, and nephews; they could always count on Amber to be on the side lines watching them march in the band, an orchestra concert, playing softball, baseball, volleyball, or football. All these kids to her were like her own kids; not just step kids or nieces and nephews. All the kids at her church knew how much she loved them.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, James Baker of Midland, her two step daughters, Makayla Campbell and husband, Chris, of Waco and Cheyenne Baker of Odessa, her parents, Ricky and Sharon Phillips of Andrews, sister, Crystal Stephens and husband, Jamie, of Andrews, brother, David Phillips of Andrews, her grandparents, Don and Marcelene Phillips of Andrews, her father and mother in law, Bo and Lavona Payne, sister in law, Tanya Bedrick and husband, Luke, nieces, Kyndra Stephens, Dylainee Stephens, and Kynsie Bedrick, nephews, Colton Phillips, Caden Bedrick, Coby Bedrick, and Caleb Bedrick, many aunts, uncles, and cousins. There were so many more church members and friends that she considered as her family. Amber was preceded in death by her grandparents, Jay and Ethel Guthrie, and her uncle, Homer Guthrie.

Amber will be missed by so many that touched her heart. One of her favorite bible verses is in the book of Philippians 4:13: " I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." If you knew Amber in the last few years of her life, then you would know her to have grown to a greater passion above everything in her life and that was to Love and serve our Savior Jesus Christ. It is very important to Amber that all family and friends give their life to Christ; so, they can feel God`s unconditional love and join her in Heaven.

Memorial donations can be made to her family`s “Go Fund Me” account at www.gofundme.com/2pwdqrz2.
