Bennie Hogard, 92, of Andrews passed away on Friday, September 23, 2016 in Andrews.
Family and friends will gather to celebrate his life at a Memorial Service at 10:00 AM Saturday, October 8, 2016 at the Andrews Presbyterian Church with Rev. Tracy Spencer-Brown officiating. Graveside services will be at 10:00 AM Tuesday, September 27, 2016 in the Andrews West Cemetery under the personal care of McNett Funeral Home in Andrews. Bennie was born on August 31, 1924 in Gray Horse, Oklahoma. He was raised and attended school in Burbank. He served in the U.S. Army in WWII as a Staff Sergeant. He married Barbara Jane Norris on May 24, 1957 in Carlsbad, NM. They moved to Andrews in the 1950’s. He worked as a mechanic for Phillips Petroleum for 27 years. He owned and operated Andrews Roofing and Construction for many years. He was a member and had served as an Elder and Deacon of the Andrews Presbyterian Church. He had been involved in the Andrews Boys Scouts #129. He loved to hunt, fish, and loved a game of horseshoes and washers, especially on July 4th. He was preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers, and 3 sisters.
Bennie is survived by his wife, Barbara Hogard of Andrews, 2 sons, Tony Hogard of Pflugerville and Bennie Hogard, 2 daughters, Mary Ann Heugatter and husband, Keith, of Arlington and Ellen Kenyon and husband, Mark, of Austin, 3 sisters, Myrtle Franks of Long Beach, CA, Lois Scott of Oklahoma City, OK, and Lorene King of Oklahoma City, OK, and 5 grandchildren.
