Rebecca Sue Irvin, 85, of Andrews passed away on Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at her home in Andrews.
Family and friends will gather to celebrate her life at 10:00 AM Saturday, September 17, 2016 at Grace Baptist Church, 507 NE 4th Street, in Andrews with Pastor Jeff Chapman, officiating. Rebecca was born on March 6, 1931 in Mount Vernon, Indiana to James Harry Smith and Emoline West Smith. She married Harold Elwood “Plug” Irvin on November 12, 1947 in Kentucky. They moved to Andrews in 1950 from Longview. She was a homemaker, and also owned and operated with her husband, Oil Patch & Supply in Andrews for many years. She was very involved in her community of Andrews, where she was a member of PRMC Pink Ladies Auxiliary, Rebekah Lodge and Grace Baptist Church. She loved to take trips with her husband to their lake house on Lake Hubbard. She enjoyed going to church, baking, puzzles, and playing board games. She loved sitting around the kitchen table having a glass of tea visiting with friends and family. She loved her dogs and spoiled them rotten. Her smile would light up a room, and she was a beautiful lady inside and out. She was preceded in death by her husband, H.E., on September 14, 2013; and her parents.
Rebecca is survived by her 3 daughters, Suzanne Holland and husband, Mark, of Houston, Glenice Newbrough and husband, Dan, of Andrews, Nancy Boren and husband, Danny, of Andrews, 1 son, Jim Irvin and wife, Raelynn, of Andrews; 13 grandchildren, and 24 great grandchildren.
