Richard M. Deel, 83, of Andrews passed away on Tuesday, August 30, 2016 in Andrews.
Family and friends will gather to celebrate his life at 10:00 AM Friday, September 2, 2016 at McNett Funeral Home Chapel in Andrews with Rev. Rick Doyle, officiating. Cremation is under the personal care of McNett Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Richard was born on September 10, 1932 in Durant, Oklahoma to Gaines Alvin Deel and Willie Jane Pirtle Deel. He was raised in Quanah and graduated from Quanah High School. He married Dorothy “Dot” Nell Davidson on November 3, 1951 in Quanah. He had retired as a hotel manager at the Best Western in Pecos and Childress, and High Country Lodge and Village Lodge in Ruidoso, NM. He loved the Dallas Cowboys and fishing. He was a member of the Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Dot, on September 15, 2009; 1 brother, Alvin Dillard Deel; 1 sister, Shirley Ann Powers; and his grandson, Darin Deel.
Richard is survived by his 2 sons, Mike Deel and wife, Nancy, of Odessa and David Deel of Andrews; 1 daughter, Donna McGuire and husband, Marty, of Muleshoe; 2 sisters, Dorothy Lee Deel of Chillicothe and Myra Jane Payne and husband, Marion, of Quanah; 7 grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren.
